Dr. Hatim Zaghloul

CEO and Chairman of the Board

Dr. Zaghloul is recognized as a visionary leader in the Canadian hi-tech community. In 1992, Dr. Zaghloul co-founded Wi-LAN Inc., and under his direction, the technology he co-invented with Dr. Michel Fattouche became the heart of many wireless communications standards. Dr. Zaghloul holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Cairo University, as well as, a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Mr. Hans Johansson

Europe Manager and Board Member

Mr. Johansson has 50 years of experience in data commutations. He founded GlobalCast, the world’s first public access to the Internet over WiFi in 1998, using state of the art technology from Wi-LAN Inc. GlobalCast was acquired by Telia in 1999 with Mr. Johansson as the general manager. Later Mr. Johansson founded Wireless Matrix based upon the WiMAX standard and became the leading supplier of equipment and services in Sweden. Earlier in his career in mobile and wireless he was amongst the first to invest in and work with Microdata system, leading supplier of TMA and duplex filters for mobile communication. He also worked with SiversIMA, millimeter wave communication and spent 8 years in marketing and support for Radio Innovation, a pioneer in Phased Array Antennas for mobile combination networks. Mr. Johansson started early with wireless communication, in his twenties he sailed for three years as a professional Radio Communication Officer in the Swedish Merchant Navy; communication protocol was the morse code. Currently serves as CEO of RF Mobile Broadband AB, Sweden.

Mr. Ashraf ElSherif

Mr. Elsherif began his career as a Product Specialist at Borg Warner International and later Regional Manager for Central and South America and the Caribbean. His success there led to his hiring as Regional Director for the area at Westinghouse International in New York, where he helped the firm enter the market and grew market share to 10% in the face of strong international competition. Ashraf then had several successful years as a joint venture partner in Saudi Arabia enterprises that partnered with European and American companies to bid on major government projects. He later moved to London, where he worked as a management consultant focused on industrial productivity optimization. His most recent project was as Senior Consultant to the Board of Directors of Fountainhead, a Geneva-based multinational specializing in food products, where he managed to triple profits in under five years to over USD 100 million. Ashraf graduated from the University of California in Berkeley with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, and has taken several executive management courses at Yale and Harvard.

Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Dardery

Vice Chairman

Mr. Dardery holds a BSc. & MSc. in Architectural Engineering. He has held numerous positions in reputable companies where he started as an engineer then later stepped up the ladder of senior management. He is a partner in the Water Tech Group of Companies and owner of Al Bailasan Company in Sudan.
